DC Ranch

DC Ranch is a north Scottsdale urban desert community made up of a series of 25 neighborhoods within four villages: Country Club, Desert Camp, Desert Parks and Silverleaf. Each village boasts a unique theme and DC Ranch homes for sale reflect those unique architectural styles. The area’s settlement dates back over a century and the community strives to maintain that small town community feel, but with big city amenities.

Rooted in the Western Past

Entrepreneur E.O. Brown was drawn away from his hometown in Wisconsin for the lure of success and health in the western frontier. Brown claimed land and settled the DC Ranch area in the beginning of the 1900s. He built his homestead near the Silverleaf spring, the only steady water source in the desert area, and piped water throughout the settlement. Silver Leaf continues to pump three gallons a minute to the supply the community with water.

Brown’s DC Ranch has developed over the years into the current 2,600 developed acres on a total of 8,281 acres of land. While the residents and homes prices have changed, the breathtaking views of the next-door McDowell Mountain Sonoran Preserve and surrounding Sonoran desert remain the same.

For those who want to get out and enjoy the beautiful Arizona weather, DC Ranch provides endless opportunities right in the community. The Country Club at DC Ranch features more than just a classically-design golf course, though the Tom Lehman and John Fought golf course should not be missed. Offering a luxury lifestyle, members have access to a fitness center, pool, tennis facilities and an elegant, private clubhouse. It’s hard to find another club in the Valley that offers such a variety of recreation and planned activities for both children and adults.

At the heart of the Silverleaf Golf Club is the Tom Weiskopf-designed championship golf course with the sprawling Sonoran desert terrain incorporated in the course, as well as an inspiring backdrop. The impressive Mediterranean-style Silverleaf Clubhouse offers resort-style amenities, from both relaxing and lap pools to world-class spa treatments and gourmet dining. This club is also known for its planned community activities that focus on family as well as adult nights out, such as holiday events, wine classes, yoga and painting.

Two retail centers complement the DC Ranch community, offering premier shopping and dining just minutes away. Market Street at DC Ranch and DC Ranch Crossing incorporate a main street theme with grocery, retailers, and both casual and fine dining options. Canyon Village takes residents away with its more contemporary European park feel featuring courtyards and fountains.

Western Architecture with Magnificent Mountain Views

Country Club and Desert Camp villages are known as the original DC Ranch neighborhood. The home styles in these villages reflect the more traditional southwestern pueblo, western ranch and Spanish architecture with an emphasis on incorporating the colors and shapes of the surrounding Sonoran Desert. Everything from condominiums to custom homes can be found in these villages.

The village of Silverleaf was built along the McDowell Mountain hillside and features expansive estates with large lots and great mountain and city views. Some neighborhoods are on the Silverleaf Golf Course and offer sweeping views of the greens, as well. Home styles are mostly Mediterranean and Spanish revival estates, although Hacienda, ranch and craftsman architecture can also be found.

In the Desert Parks village, the spirit of community can be felt in each of the gated neighborhoods. In addition to privacy and security, each neighborhood features its own park and natural wash area. Residents are encouraged to mix and mingle in the many shaded and well-maintained common areas. These homes are mostly luxury apartments, condominiums, townhomes and single-family homes.

Just as the home styles and architecture are varied, so are home values. Depending on the size, location and style (attached, detached, custom), average home prices in DC Ranch are about $500,000 in Desert Parks and Desert Camp, $1.5-2 million in Country Club and $2.5 million in Silverleaf.

DC Ranch Schools

DC Ranch is served by the Scottsdale Unified School District, one of Arizona’s top performing school districts. Copper Ridge School is a kindergarten through eighth grade public school built specifically for residents of DC Ranch. High school students attend Chaparral High School, or one of the many private and charter schools in north Scottsdale.
